 History

In 2003, the six children of Ned K. and Lillie V. White, founded the Old Field Planters, Inc. (OFPI), a 501c3 non-profit organization to honors our parents.

Ned and Lillie White were ordinary people who did extraordinary things. Their dedication to God, family and each other reflected into dedication to church and community. Our parents embodied a thirst for education, Ned an avid reader and orator and Lillie a boarding school graduate and missionary; instilled the values and drive for education into the lives of young people they touched. Their life, work, and principled values brought forth much admiration, deep affection, inspiration and love to all who knew them. They believed that God is the key to the kingdom and education is the key that unlocks the door to success. Their passion to instill learning, manifested in their

work with Christian Education and lay leadership; they used these platforms to inspire and prepare young people and advocated supporting youth who was eager to advance their education to the highest level that he or she desired.

Through OFPI we continue our parent’s legacy of inspiring others, engaging in community outreach, promoting literacy, and supporting higher education. Our organization was also proud to establish the Ned K. and Lillie V. White Scholarship Fund to help continue their legacy of valuing and supporting youth attaining higher education beyond high school, developing our leaders for tomorrow and to help produce numerous educated and productive citizens into the world.
